Turning Cabin Driving Simulator

When the steering wheel is turned, the driver's cabin also turns.  This simulates the heading of vehicles when driving on curves and making left and right turns.

Simulator

Three projectors present a 180 degree field of view on a curved screen.

A distortion correction algorithm is used to match the image to the screen's curvature.

An edge blending algorithm is used to blend the 3 projector images into one.

Driving with the turning cabin simulator provides a more realistic driving experience due to the driver physically turning when using the steering wheel.

The turning cabin simulator may also be used in "static mode".  Here the seat stays fixed as in a fixed base simulator.
