DESCRIPTION:Love Data Week is our annual university-wide event focused on building data & AI literacy across all disciplines and roles. DESCRIPTION:Patents can be an important source of research data\, often the only place some technologies are detailed. They form a network of technical knowledge that shows the history of invention and can be a springboard for new technologies and innovation. \nAs an introduction to patent data\, in this workshop students will learn: \n\nWhere to look for patents\nTips and tricks for searching for patents\nHow to follow patent citation networks to see how technologies evolve and connect\n\nWe’ll close with a Mystery Patent Reveal game using real patent diagrams and descriptions of high tech\, ridiculous\, and unexpected patents! \nThis is a hybrid event. Attend online via Teams or in person at Snell Library 215.
