CEE Professor offers alumni perspectives on AI in MIT News
CEE Professor Ganguly was quoted in an MIT news article entitled “Alumni call on MIT to champion artificial intelligence education“.
Ganguly and his PhD students work on developing and adapting AI (especially, Machine Learning) tools for climate, sustainability, infrastructures, and security studies. A work led by Ganguly’s PhD student Thomas J. Vandal on Deep Learning for Statistical Downscaling (DeepSD) in Climate received an award at the prestigious ACM KDD 2017 conference (see KDD 2017 awards page). The work was joint with NASA and risQ (a spinout from Ganguly’s SDS Lab).
Ganguly wrote an Op-Ed on Machine Learning recently.
