ChemE Car Places Second at Regional Conference; Advances to Nationals in Orlando

This past weekend (3/31) Northeastern's ChemE Car team competed at the annual Eckhardt Northeast Regional AIChE Conference at UMass Amherst. They placed second overall out of thirteen teams, qualifying them to compete at the AIChE National Conference this fall in Orlando. ChemE Car is a team of motivated engineering undergraduates who design a shoe box sized car powered by chemical reactions. They work all year to develop and quantify these reactions so that they can calculate the reactants needed to travel a certain distance, which is revealed an hour before competition. The team is excited to continue to compete and to host the Northeast Regional Conference in 2020. ChemE Car meets every week on Tuesday in Mugar 100 (UO Lab) 7:30-9pm.
