Hung Awarded American Chemical Society Funding

ChE Associate Professor Francisco Hung was awarded a $110K grant from the American Chemical Society (ACS) Petroleum Research Fund for "Understanding Novel Shale Hydration Inhibitors for Water-Based Drilling Fluids Using Molecular Simulation."

The Petroleum Research Fund was originally established as a Trust by leaders in the oil industry in 1944. In 200, assets of the Fund were transferred to the The American Chemical Society, for supporting “advanced scientific education and fundamental research in the petroleum field,” including any area of pure science that may lead to further research directly impacting petroleum.
