Northeastern Joins Center for Disruptive Musculoskeletal Innovations

This year Northeastern University joined the National Science Foundation’s Center for Disruptive Musculoskeletal Innovations (CDMI) as an affiliate site. Under the leadership of Department of Chemical Engineering Chair and Professor Thomas Webster, this is an exciting opportunity to collaborate with academic and industry partners to collaborate innovative healthcare technologies. The CDMI is “a novel integration of healthcare economics, biomedical science and clinical medicine. It is a resource for faculty and industry partners to collaborate to target novel technologies that will decrease healthcare costs and improve the management and life of patients with musculoskeletal disease.” At the CDMI fall symposium, CDMI Director Jeffrey Lotz noted, “We are delighted to have two new affiliate sites join and…are ready to take the CDMI to the next level via strategic growth.”
