Tom Webster Honored at Zhejiang and Overseas High-level Talents Conference
Thomas Webster, Professor and Department Chair, Chemical Engineering and Art Zafiropoulo Chair in Engineering was honored at a signing ceremony on May 27, 2017. This was part of the Zhejiang and Overseas High-level Talents Conference in Cambridge, MA. The conference mainly focuses on recruiting overseas experts and talents, and also holding the signing ceremony between the US and China. Last year, Zhejiang introduced more than 1.6 million overseas high-level personnel into this special program.
In China, the research is conducted at the Wenzhou Institute of Biomaterials and Engineering (WIBE). The Department of Chemical Engineering has a research center with WIBE, known as the Center for Nano and Pico Medicine.
Prof. Webster has a sponsored research project with CGN Juner New Materials, Co., Ltd., where he is focusing on improving the functions of polymers for a wide range of applications, including biomaterials. Ms. Xiaomin Chen, the CEO of Juner, presented him with awards.
