Research Focus

Area of Focus: Telecommunication Networks, Software Engineering Systems, Internet of Things


Laura first joined Northeastern in August 2016 as an advisor to graduate students in the MS Energy Systems and MS Engineering Management programs before she joined the MGEN Co-op Team in July 2019 to build proactive and responsive connections between students, education, and industry.

Laura’s professional career is rooted within the power of experience. She spent four years at a not-for-profit travel company growing relationships with partner organizations and developing programs for adult travelers within the US before completing her Master’s degree and transitioning to the field of higher education. In addition to her previous work as an advisor, Laura has also worked as a writing specialist and enjoys guiding both undergraduate and graduate students to use their voice to find power and agency in understanding and articulating their thoughts and experiences.

Laura is fluent in Spanish and trains Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, and enjoys applying the principles of language learning and martial arts throughout her life – embrace discomfot, because that’s where we find the surprises, creativity, and growth that lead to greatness.
