Mathematical Optimization modeling, Computation, and Analytics Lab

The overall mission of MOCA research lab is to develop problem-driven, data-informed decision models and computational tools for supporting decision-making in various applications such as healthcare. The most recent research is related to (1) Interpretable decision models and analytics for personalized health, medical diagnosis, and healthcare operations and (2) Multi-modal dynamical learning and recognition (Explainable AI) of complex systems such as human body network, brain, transportation, etc.

MIE Assistant Professor Chun-An (Joe) Chou (PI), together with MIE Professor Yingzi Lin (Co-PI) and Bouve PTMRS Associate Clinical Professor Sheng-Che Yen (Co-PI), received the award from the 2020 Tufts CTSI Pilot Studies Program for the research project “Decoding Mutli-Modal Physiological Response Patterns for Assessing Post-Stroke Cognitive Impairment in VR-based Driving.”

Chou Awarded Burroughs Wellcome Fund Travel Grant

MIE Assistant Professor Chun-An (Joe) Chou was awarded a Collaborative Research Travel Grant from Burroughs Wellcome Fund for his research project, entitled “Data-Driven Method for Learning and Recognizing Dynamical Systems in Computational Neuroscience.” The BMF CRTG program supports academic scientists to begin and continue a collaboration to address biomedical questions.
