Karen P. Kelley currently serves as a Senior Cooperative Education Faculty Coordinator in Bioengineering Department. She brings over 20 years of experience working as a Coordinator in the ME and IE Co-op Program. Karen assists students in their co-op searches and guides them in their career decisions. Karen has been instrumental in the development of co-op curriculum to better prepare students for their work experiences and teaches required COE courses including Introduction to Co-op and Professional Issues for Engineers. Using students’ professional and academic experiences, she instructs students in the development of career portfolios to illustrate their skills and achievements to potential employers. Karen’s job development and connection with employers has been vital to the success of co-op programs at Northeastern. In addition to her work as a Co-op Coordinator, Karen also currently serves as a consultant to the Gordon Engineering Leadership Program at Northeastern University where she has written curriculum and developed modules used to expand students’ leadership skills in the workplace. She has been awarded both the Camp Dresser and McKee award from the Department of Cooperative Education and Coordinator of the Year Award from the College of Engineering, recognizing her for her outstanding work with students and employers.
