About
Prior to joining Northeastern University, Mofei spent most of her professional career working in the nonprofit sector, recruiting volunteers, doing outreach, and developing strategic partnerships in Boston and beyond. Having worked extensively with immigrants and international students of varying ages, counseling them on employment and college access, she is acutely aware of the challenges and struggles that students face when dealing with the differences in cultures, norms and expectations. Her experience in adult education, particularly with English language learners, has equipped her with the ability to navigate language barriers and assist students in a more holistic way. Mofei is proud of her bicultural identity, immigrant background, and connection to her heritage. As such, she is constantly looking for ways to bridge the gap and foster understanding between cultures.
Mofei is fluent in Mandarin Chinese and is working towards mastering French, as well as trying to learn new languages.
