The Graduate Certificate in Medical Software Engineering prepares students to design and implement effective, ethical, and interconnected healthcare information systems, bridging the gap between technology and healthcare delivery. The four-course (16 semester hour) program integrates principals of ecosystem design, systems engineering, zero-trust foundations, collaboration tools, and interoperability/data governance.
Innovative Curriculum
Through a holistic approach to healthcare IT, students gain the knowledge and skills to navigate the complexity of healthcare services to develop information systems that ensure patient safety and meet the requirements of diverse stakeholders. Courses taken can be applied toward a master’s degree from Northeastern’s College of Engineering while simultaneously pursuing the master’s degree, or upon completion of the certificate and admittance to the master’s program. This graduate certificate can be applied toward the following degrees: MS in Information Systems, MS in Information Systems-bridge, MS in Software Engineering Systems, MS in Cyber Physical Systems, MS in Telecommunication Networks, and MS in Data Architecture and Management.
