Using AI for Disaster Response Research

CEE/Khoury Assistant Professor Fatemeh Ghoreishi, in collaboration with the University of Utah and the University of Michigan Ann Arbor, was awarded a $900,000 grant from the U.S. Army for the project, “Interactive Human-Agent Teaming Via Multiple Feedback Types,” which aims to develop advanced machine learning and optimization techniques to provide real-time guidance and recommendations for human teams operating in disaster scenarios.

CEE/Khoury Assistant Professor Fatemeh Ghoreishi and her interdisciplinary PhD student, Negar Asadi, PhD’27, received the Conference Best Paper Award at the 2024 Modeling, Estimation, and Control Conference (MECC 2024) for their paper, “Active Learning for Efficient Data Acquisition in Coupled Multidisciplinary Systems.”

Undergraduate Students Publish Research at 2024 IEEE MIT URTC

Ise Okhiria, KCS ’25, and Alyssa Lee, S ’25, who are recipients of the Fall 2023 PEAK Experiences Awards and advised by CEE/Khoury Assistant Professor Fatemeh Ghoreishi, will present the results of their project in a publication at the 2024 IEEE MIT Undergraduate Research Technology Conference (URTC).

Ghoreishi Receives U.S. Army Grant for Advancing Artificial Intelligence Research

CEE/Khoury Assistant Professor Fatemeh Ghoreishi received a $60,000 grant from the U.S. Army for “BRITE: Bayesian Inference and Preference Learning for Unknown and Time-Sensitive Environments,” to further research on AI systems in unpredictable environments.
