Andrew Childs Wins Compass Award

CEE senior Andrew Childs has been selected to receive the Northeastern University 2013 Compass Award, representing the College of Engineering. Every year the Office of Alumni Relations presents this award to select students who exemplify the characteristics valued by the University: leadership, volunteerism, academic integrity, and commitment to Northeastern. Andrew is a very active student in the CEE department, currently serving as the President for two student groups, Chi Epsilon and the NUASCE Student Chapter. Congratulations to Andrew on receiving this prestigious award!

Each spring the program recognizes nine outstanding students from the senior class who, during their time on campus, have demonstrated a true commitment to the core set of values listed below.

  • Leadership
  • Volunteerism
  • Academic integrity
  • Commitment to Northeastern

Importantly, the Compass Awards program also brings together outstanding student leaders with notable alumni from the Husky family.

Members of the Alumni Association Board and/or other alumni leaders will serve as presenters at the ceremony, as well as long-term mentors to the student recipients – a great example of how the Northeastern experience can continue to flourish after graduation.
