ASCE Community Service Builds Park for Walpole

The student chapter of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) at Northeastern University recently reached a milestone on their multi-year community service project with the Town of Walpole – the completion of a ramada. The multi-year project included permitting, design and construction of a pedestrian bridge which was completed in 2013 and a ramada which was completed this past summer (2015).  The pedestrian bridge which spans Spring Brook, improves the Bay Circuit Trail and provides an off-road opportunity for trail users while the ramada provides a covered area for picnics, performances, and gatherings.  NEU Students, faculty, alumni, and staff worked with Walpole citizens to complete the Spring Brook project over the last five years.
