Bioengineering PhD Candidate Jaclyn Lock Wins AIChE Poster Competition
Jaclyn Lock, a PhD Candidate in the Bioengineering Department, advised by ChE Associate Professor Rebecca Carrier, was awarded first place in the Materials Engineering & Sciences Division (MESD) poster competition at the annual American Chemical Institute for Chemical Engineers (AIChE) meeting in San Francisco. Jaclyn’s poster “Dextran Sodium Sulfate Exposure Affects Intestinal Mucus Integrity” was selected out of 50 posters in the competition. Her research explored the role of the altered intestinal mucus barrier in intestinal disease progression.
