COE Alum Receives 2 Prestigious Awards

Lionbridge Technologies, Inc. (Nasdaq: LIOX) today announced that its Chief Operating Officer, Satish Maripuri, has been presented with two prestigious awards that recognize his outstanding accomplishments in international business and his leadership in the software and services sector. Maripuri recently received the Bharat Samman Parvasi 2008 Award and the Hind Rattan 2009 Award. These expatriate awards recognize the business and philanthropic achievements of people of Indian descent.

The 'Bharat Samman Parvasi 2008 Award' was presented in New Delhi on Saturday, January 10th by His Excellency Lord Richard Stagg, British High Commissioner to India. The event was hosted by the N R I Institute during Pravasi Divas 2009, the Institute's annual honorary event. The 'Hind Rattan Award (Jewel of India) 2009' was presented in New Delhi on Sunday, January 25th. The award ceremony was hosted by the N R I Welfare Society of India in a ceremony held in New Delhi in conjunction with Indian Republic Day which took place on January 26th.

Several dignitaries attended the events including His Excellency Lord Richard Stagg, British High Commissioner to India, His Excellency Choone Mookhesswur, High Commissioner of Mauritius and past and present Cabinet Ministers from the Government of India and Members of Parliament. The awards were part of celebrations during which Mr. Maripuri was greeted by Chief Minister of Delhi, Sheila Dikshit and the Chairman of India's Law Commission A.R Lakshmanan, K. C. Pant, Former Indian Defense Minister.

Present and past members of the Indian Government in conjunction with the NRI organizations recognize individuals for significant business and philanthropic accomplishments every year. With these awards, Mr. Maripuri joins an illustrious list of past awardees that include Sam Pitroda, chairman of India's National Knowledge Commission; Lord Swaraj Paul, British parliamentarian and founder of Caparo Group; Baron Karan Bilimoria, CEO of Cobra Beer and Dr Ranjit Chandra, Canada's "ace medicine man", who has been nominated twice for the Nobel Prize in medicine.

Mr. Jagmohan Singh, Secretary General of the N.R.I. An Undergraduate Engineer from Andhra University in Visakhapatnam, A.P, India, with a Graduate Engineering education from Northeastern University, Boston, Mass, USA, Mr. Maripuri began his career as an engineer in the software services sector in Boston and quickly diversified into international business. After working for several Boston-based software and services companies, Mr. Maripuri has been with Lionbridge Technologies for the past 5 years. In his capacity as the Chief Operating Officer of Lionbridge, Mr. Maripuri oversees day to day client operations of the organization. Mr. Maripuri was also awarded the "Pride of India" in 2007 and named "Business Person of the Year 2007" by the IndUS Business Journal.
