Eighth International Workshop on Connections in Steel Structures

Jerome Hajjar, CDM Smith Professor and Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering Chair, along with Northeastern University, are pleased to announce they will host the Eighth International Workshop on Connections in Steel Structures (Connections VIII).   In May 2016, researchers, designers, fabricators and steel industry representatives will gather to collaborate and share knowledge within the areas of strength, behavior, fabrication and design of connections for structural steel and composite steel/concrete frames.  Connections VIII is co-chaired by Charlie Carter, Vice President and Chief Structural Engineer at the American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC), and the workshop is co-sponsored by AISC and Northeastern University in conjunction with the European Convention for Construction Steelwork (ECCS).  Workshop proceedings will be published by AISC.  The event is by invitation only, but stay tuned for announcements after the workshop about how to receive the proceedings book.  This series of international workshops, ongoing since 1987, has proven to be pivotal to advancing the national and international design codes for steel structures worldwide.
