Eminent Service to Education
Mechanical and Industrial Engineering Professor John Cipolla was selected to receive the American Society of Mechanical Engineers Edwin F. Church Medal for eminent service in increasing the value, importance and attractiveness of mechanical engineering education.
The $2500 award was established in 1973 by Edwin F. Church, Jr., who was a devoted member os ASME.
Cipolla’s areas of expertise include mathematical methods, thermodynamics and fluid dynamics.
