For Ashlesha Donde, Information Systems spring 2027, technology is most powerful when it is applied with purpose—using data, software, and analytical thinking to solve real-world problems. Throughout her time at Northeastern University, Donde has shaped an academic journey defined by hands-on projects, interdisciplinary collaboration, and a strong focus on building impactful, data-driven solutions.
Before joining Northeastern, Ashlesha Donde developed a solid foundation in information systems and analytics, gaining experience in Python programming, databases, data analysis, and system design. She applied these skills through practical projects, including a blockchain-based decentralized application and an AI-driven research initiative called RescueNet. These experiences strengthened her interest in using emerging technologies to address real-world challenges while reinforcing the importance of collaboration and effective communication in technical environments.
Drawn to Northeastern’s emphasis on experiential learning, Donde chose the MS in Information Systems program for its balance of technical depth and real-world application. The program’s industry-aligned curriculum and project-based approach closely matched her goal of developing practical, career-relevant skills in data analytics and software development. Donde values the way the curriculum encourages students to think beyond theory and apply technology to meaningful business and operational problems.
Within the program, Donde has built core competencies across application development, data management, and analytics. Faculty members have played an important role in emphasizing structured problem-solving, solution-oriented thinking, and clear communication—skills Donde sees as essential for translating technical work into real-world impact.

Donde has applied her learning through several standout academic projects that simulate professional technology environments. In Application Engineering & Development, she worked as part of a team to develop CityConnect, a travel planning and booking platform focused on clean user interface design, backend logic, and collaborative development practices. In Data Management and Database Design, she contributed to the creation of a Hotel Management System, implementing relational databases, enforcing data integrity, and writing advanced SQL queries to support operational workflows.
In addition to group projects, Donde completed an individual data analytics project analyzing Uber ride data using Python and data visualization tools. By cleaning and processing large datasets, she identified patterns and trends that could inform route optimization, demand forecasting, and pricing strategies. The project strengthened her ability to approach complex, real-world data challenges methodically and deliver actionable insights.
Beyond academics, Donde brings a unique perspective as a professionally trained Bharatanatyam classical dancer, having completed five exams with distinctions. She credits dance with cultivating discipline, focus, creativity, and resilience—qualities that directly influence her academic work and collaborative approach to problem-solving.
Looking ahead, Donde aspires to pursue roles such as Data Analyst, Business Analyst, or Business Intelligence professional, where she can combine software development, data analytics, and strategic thinking to build solutions that create meaningful impact. Through Northeastern’s experiential curriculum, faculty mentorship, and emphasis on applied learning, she is developing the technical and professional foundation needed to contribute thoughtfully and effectively in the technology industry
