Gallaway Elected Chair of The Electrochemical Society’s New England Section
ChE Associate Professor Joshua Gallaway was elected as the Chair of the New England Section of The Electrochemical Society (ECS), a significant regional leadership role within the international professional society dedicated to advancing electrochemistry and solid state science.
The New England Section, which includes approximately 150 members, was established to strengthen collaboration and communication across the region’s electrochemical community. The Section promotes activities in electrochemistry and solid state science, provides networking opportunities for researchers at all career stages, and enhances the visibility and engagement of New England members within ECS and the broader international community.
As Chair, Gallaway will lead the Section’s Executive Committee in organizing technical programming, networking events, and community-building initiatives throughout New England. The Executive Committee is committed to expanding regional engagement and fostering collaboration across institutions and industry partners.
ECS Sections play an important role in introducing and supporting activities within specific regions, offering members opportunities to engage locally while contributing to the Society’s global mission. Under Gallaway’s leadership, the New England Section aims to further strengthen regional collaboration and expand participation in ECS programming.
