IS Students Win EthDenver Blockchain Hackathon

Information Systems students Zhongjie He (Eric) and Parth Gargava were one of seven winners of the EthDenver Blockchain Hackaton in Colorada. The Hackaton had an audience of 600 people with over 190 teams participating in the competition. Eric and Parth, with the guidance of their teacher Qi Lu, built a smart contract application leveraging the accountability and tractability power of Blockchain technologies to ensure the safety of the blood supply chain anywhere in the world. This has the potential to open up new sources of blood donations coming from developing countries that were otherwise considered unsafe.
