Liu Selected as SPIE Fellow

Yongmin Liu

MIE/ECE Associate Professor Yongmin Liu was selected as a fellow of the International Society for Optics and Photonics (SPIE). Fellows are Members of distinction who have made significant scientific and technical contributions in the multidisciplinary fields of optics, photonics, and imaging. They are honored for their technical achievement and for their service to the general optics community and to SPIE in particular.

Liu’s research is at the intersection of optics, engineering, applied physics and nanoscience. It is a synergistic integration of fundamental science, nano material/structure design, artificial intelligence, and prototype device development. Liu is interested in novel nano optical materials and devices for various applications including next-generation optical information processing, super-resolution imaging, data storage, efficient light harvesting and ultra-sensitive biomedical detection. He has authored and co-authored over 110 journal papers including Science, Nature, Nature Photonics, Nature Nanotechnology, Nature Communications, Advanced Materials, Physical Review Letters, Nano Letters, and ACS Nano.
