PhD Student Wins Outstanding Paper Award at MEMS 2019

Sungho (Ryan) Kang from ECE Associate Professor Matteo Rianldi’s group received the Outstanding Student Paper Award in the 32nd IEEE International Conference on Micro Electro Mechanical Systems (MEMS 2019), held in Seoul, Korea.

The paper “Chip-scale MEMS-CMOS Multispectral Infrared Chemical Sensor,” co-authored by Sungho (Ryan) Kang, Zhenyun Qian, Vageeswar Rajaram, Sila Deniz Calisgan, and Matteo Rinaldi presents an ultra-miniaturized infrared chemical sensor enabled by the novel integration of the fields in Nano Plasmonics and Micro Electro Mechanical Systems. The award recognizes high quality papers and presentation amongst 677 submitted papers, judged by Technical Committees.
