Silevitch, Rappaport, Martinez win $1.2M DHS award

ECE Profs. Michael Silevitch, Carey Rappaport, and Jose Martinez (also with MIE) and ALERT’s John Beaty have been awarded a $1,200,000, two year Task Order contract from the Department of Homeland Security to transition research from ALERT’s Advanced Imaging Technology Laboratory into technology suitable for commercialization.  Two algorithm projects will be adapted for industrial partners:  Nearfield radar material characterization of concealed body-borne dielectric threats (including explosives); and automatic body surface reconstruction using time of flight monostatic radar.
