The Webster Group Publishes Review Article in Advanced Functional Materials

Thomas Webster, Professor and Department Chair, Chemical Engineering and Art Zafiropoulo Chair in Engineering leads the Webster Nanomedicine Lab with an interdisciplinary approach to understanding, investigating, and applying new nano-biomaterials and techniques to the medical world.

Recently, Prof. Webster and PhD students Mian Wang, Gujie Mi, Di Shi, Nicole Bassous and alumnus Daniel Hickey published the review article “Nanotechnology and Nanomaterials for Improving Neural Interfaces” in the journal Advanced Functional Materials. In this invited feature article, they describe recent advances in nanotechnology for improved biomaterial–neural tissue interfaces, and identify their advantages and disadvantages from a researcher's perspective.

The review article was then featured in spotlight post on Nanowerk, the premier and most popular source for nanotechnology information. Nanowerk provides daily news and updates on emerging technologies through their website, databases, and social media.
