Two Computer Engineering PhD Students Selected for Honors

Computer Engineering PhD Student Charu Kalra was selected by the Association of Computing Machinery (ACM) Women in Computing to receive a scholarship to attend and participate in the 2016 ACM International Symposium on Code Generation and Optimization, to be held in March 2016 in Barcelona, Spain. As part of this program, Kalra will be assigned a mentor from the leadership of ACM-W as part of the scholarship award.

Computer Engineering PhD Student Zhongliang Chen was selected by the IEEE International Parallel and Distributed Processing Symposium to be a part of the 2016 IPDPS PhD Forum. The Forum provides a venue for students to better prepare for their research and career path in parallel and distributed computing. Recipients will have the opportunity to both present their research and interact with senior academic and industry people in an informal setting. In addition, there will be mentoring sessions to help students improve communication skills, obtain valuable information for career planning, get familiar with trendy research topics, and make valuable contacts.
