Webster Slected as Biomaterials Science and Engineering Fellow

The International Union of Societies for Biomaterials Science and Engineering has elected 58 new Fellows (FBSE) who will be inducted at the 10th World Biomaterials Congress on May 18, 2016.

Thomas Webster, Professor and Department Chair, Chemical Engineering and Art Zafiropoulo Chair in Engineering is elected as a Fellow of the International Union of Societies for Biomaterials Science and Engineering for his design, synthesis and evaluation of nanophase materials for use in various biomedical applications.

The International Union of Societies for Biomaterials Science and Engineering (IUSBSE) is the body that brings together national and multi-national groups dedicated to the advancement of biomaterials, surgical implants, prosthetics, artificial organs, tissue engineering and regenerative medicine.

Fellows are to be considered as accomplished members and role models in the field of biomaterials science and engineering. Fellows are expected, through word and deed, to foster the field of biomaterials and to support its professional development as a practical and intellectual endeavor.

The fellow status is awarded for life.
