About

Kirsten Bilas joined the Graduate School of Engineering Boston-based Academic Advising Team in October 2022. Kirsten has spent almost a decade working at Northeastern University through her combined roles. Prior to joining COE, she was an administrative assistant for the Department of History at the College of Social Sciences and Humanities (CSSH) and the Graduate Academic Coordinator for the Office of Enrollment Management at the Bouve College of Health Sciences.  Before joining Northeastern University in February of 2013, she had worked for a third party study abroad provider, an commercial adult ESL school, and a career certificate school. International education has been her passion since she spent time studying abroad in Paris, France. During this time she transferred majors with help from an academic advisor which she credits with starting her interest in advising. She is a quadruple Northeastern Husky having earned her four graduate degrees from the Northeastern in addition to her undergraduate degree from the University of Connecticut. Fun fact about Kirsten is that during the pandemic she got into long distance running via the RunDisney community and ran her first half marathon during the Wine & Dine Festival at Walt Disney World in November 2022. When she is not busy training for her next race, she is planning her next trips, hanging out with friends, family, and her three fur nephews.
