About

Prior to joining Northeastern University in September 2021, Josie completed her studies in Italy, earning a bachelor’s degree in Political Science and a master’s degree in International Studies. After completing her studies in Italy, Josie found herself teaching and studying across Europe and China. While in China, Josie taught Italian at Beijing Foreign Studies University and Shanghai International Studies University, later earning scholarships to study at both institutions. Her extensive educational and professional experience abroad has provided her with many opportunities, working in an array of diverse environments.

After moving to Boston, Josie worked in healthcare management at the Dana Farber Cancer Institute. After a few years, Josie found her true passion working in higher education. In her first role at Boston University, she worked in the Questrom School of Business as a Department Operations & Technology Manager, where she gained experience working with domestic and international students, supporting course planning and data management, collaborating closely with Admissions. Later she was promoted to the role of Financial & Grants Administrator at BU’s School of Medicine. In her role, she worked to support faculty and their diversified portfolio of research activities. Additionally, during her time at BU, she worked closely with various university offices to ensure that research proposals submissions were in compliance with agency, federal governments, and University policies and regulations.

In her spare time, Josie volunteers as a Literacy Tutor at Literacy Volunteers of Massachusetts. She speaks six languages (English, French, Italian, Chinee, Portuguese, and Spanish) and loves hiking and traveling with her husband.
