About

Dr. Pramod Gupta is an accomplished data scientist and educator with over 20 years of experience across industrial, academic, and research settings. He holds a Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from McMaster University, along with an M.Eng. from McGill University and boasts a robust expertise in controls, simulation, modeling, robotics, machine learning, deep learning, data modeling, data analysis, and predictive analytics. His strong communication, presentation, and organizational skills are evident from his 40+ publications and his role as a co-organizer of international conferences.

Currently, he serves as an Affiliate Faculty at both the University of California, Davis, and Northeastern University, where he develops and teaches graduate-level courses in data science, including Python, data visualization, and machine learning. Pramod has also held teaching positions at San Jose State University and the University of the Pacific, focusing on similar subjects.

In the professional arena, he has consulted for various organizations on data analytics and machine learning solutions. His previous roles included Senior Principal Data Scientist at Novasignal and Data Scientist at VISA/CTSH, where he designed algorithms for anomaly detection and predictive analytics.

Pramod has received numerous accolades, including the NASA Space Act Award and a Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council Canada (NSERC) Postdoctoral Fellowship. He has actively contributed to professional activities, including serving on organizing committees for various conferences and presenting as an invited speaker.
