About

Andy King is a seasoned computer scientist, educator, author, and technology executive with over two decades of software systems engineering and leadership experience. His career has largely been focused on designing and building network management tools, telematics systems, sensor networks, and Internet of Things / Digital Twins ecosystems. Through his consulting work, Prof. King advises clients across North America and the Globe on a wide range of IoT and industrial integration initiatives, from strategy to implementation, and has led numerous advanced research initiatives focused on the design of edge computing systems. In addition to his consulting activities, he is an Adjunct Faculty member at Northeastern University in the College of Engineering, where he teaches the Connected Devices and Building Digital Twins graduate courses in the Cyber Physical Systems program. Prof. King’s portfolio includes the O’Reilly Media book, Programming the Internet of Things, which introduces the reader to the basics of building an integrated, end-to-end IoT solution – from device to cloud. Originally written to support his Connected Devices course at Northeastern University, it is currently in print across the globe in English, Polish, and Simplified Chinese, helping university students, developers and technology executives better understand the technical complexities of typical IoT ecosystems.
