About
Shannon Pettiford, M.S., PMP, PMI-ACP, is a seasoned professional with extensive expertise in program and project management, business process improvement, and operations management. Over the decades, he has managed global projects and programs in digital marketing, information technology, human resources, finance, and strategic initiatives.
He is an active member of the Project Management Institute (PMI) and holds several certifications, including Project Management Professional (PMP), Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP), and Certified Scrum Master (CSM). Shannon earned his undergraduate degree in Computer Science from East Tennessee State University and his master’s degree in Project Management from Northeastern University, with a concentration in program and portfolio management. His ongoing research focuses on risk management, business process development, strategic initiatives, and business relationship management.
Shannon’s career includes various roles in information technology, such as web developer, software programmer, systems analyst, and business analyst. His cross-functional experience in Fortune 500 organizations has given him deep insights and valuable lessons in finance, IT, marketing, and logistics. He works full-time at Boston Consulting Group as an IT Program Manager, focusing on office expansions, M&A, business acquisitions, and business engagement models globally. With a proven track record in program and project management, Shannon excels in organizational performance improvement, cost reduction methodologies, and business transformation.
In addition to his professional roles, Shannon teaches graduate-level courses in project management at the Harvard Business School Professional & Executive, Harvard Extension School, Northeastern University, and the University of Kansas.
