ChE PhD Receives 2026 Outstanding PhD Student Award in Teaching

Naira Keshishian, PhD’27, chemical engineering, received the 2026 Outstanding PhD Student Award in Teaching, which recognizes those who have demonstrated an exceptional ability to communicate ideas and concepts in the classroom and a talent for inspiring students.

Keshishian is a PhD candidate in the Department of Chemical Engineering at Northeastern University and a member of the Auguste Lab for Responsive Drug Delivery and Tissue Engineering. Her research focuses on the development and optimization of nanoparticle platforms to enhance immune responses for cancer immunotherapy. She earned her BS in Chemical Engineering from Sharif University of Technology and subsequently gained industry experience at a biotechnology company, where she developed an interest in applying engineering strategies to therapeutic development. This experience motivated her to pursue doctoral research in drug delivery and immunotherapy. During her PhD, she has supported teaching across multiple courses in the Chemical Engineering Department. She aims to pursue a career applying engineering principles to advance treatments for cancer and autoimmune diseases. Outside the lab, she enjoys hiking and engaging in creative activities.
