PlusOne with MS in Artificial Intelligence

PlusOne with MS in Artificial Intelligence

Overview

PlusOne accelerated master’s degrees allow students to accelerate the attainment of the master’s degree by applying graduate credits taken as an undergraduate toward both the undergraduate and graduate degrees. Current undergraduate students apply to enroll in the PlusOne program.

With the PlusOne program, students attain their bachelor’s degree followed by a PlusOne year to complete the master’s degree.

Benefits

  • Accelerate learning – get your master’s in one year vs. typically two
  • Reduce costs – apply some courses toward both your undergrad and master’s degrees, and get the MS for PlusOne tuition scholarship
  • Gain a competitive edge – stand out with an advanced degree

Below are the eligible undergraduate majors available to pursue a PlusOne pathway with a master’s degree in Artificial Intelligence. Also, review the Curriculum Guides and the Accelerated Master’s links for further details, including program policies and procedures, as well as how to Apply.

Acceptable Undergraduate Pathways

Eligible Undergrad Majors Additional Prerequisites
BS in Computer Engineering (and all combined majors) EECE5644, DS5020
BS in Electrical Engineering (and all combined majors) EECE5644, DS5020
BS in Electrical and Computer Engineering (and all combined majors) EECE5644, DS5020

Graduate Course Sharing

In addition to EECE 5644 and DS 5020, students may choose up to two other courses at the 5000-level that satisfy their MS requirements. Students may choose the additional two courses from the Core Requirements, two courses from the Computer Vision concentration first subset of courses, or one course from the Computer Vision concentration second subset of courses and one course from the other two lists. To satisfy the MS in AI program requirements, it is imperative that students review program requirements in the academic catalog. Students should not take both courses that have the ‘or’ option. MS Project is also not an option for course sharing. Students should only take the maximum allotted semester hours (SH) from each subset, so the program is completed accurately. Any questions or concerns, please reach out to coe-ece-gradadvising@northeastern.edu.

Academic Advising

For support with academic questions, students should reach out to their undergraduate academic advisor in their home college as well as the Graduate School of Engineering.
