ChemE-Sports Team Triumphs in Competition
The ChemE-Sports team performed remarkably in a competition held April 6-7, 2024. They faced-off against 29 teams from across the globe, making this the largest ChemE-Sports competition to date. They placed first in two rounds and third place in one round.

Students, faculty, staff, alumni, and corporate partners were recognized for their commitments to several COE affinity student groups at the 18th Annual Joint Recognition Banquet. The groups represented included SHPE, SWE, BESS, SASE, and DICE.

Northeastern Mars Rover Team Places First at the Winter Canadian International Rover Challenge
The Northeastern Mars Rover Team competed in the inaugural Winter Canadian International Rover Challenge, where they took home the gold, placing first and securing their first-ever competition win. Taking place in Niagara Falls, Ontario, Northeastern competed against teams from McMaster University, the University of Toronto, and York University. The competition included four challenges spread across two days.

Isabela Castillo, E’25, bioengineering, came to Northeastern University with an idea to create prosthetic hands and led to her starting Give a Hand, a club developing low-cost, 3D-printed prosthetic hands.

Northeastern Team Places Third at Walt Disney Parks & Resorts Industrial Engineering Case Competition
Daunte Pean, E’25, Karim Kane, E’25, and Lucas Kirma, E’25, industrial engineering, won third place at Disney’s national Industrial Engineering Case Competition. As part of the case study competition, the team took on the role as outside consultants for the city of Dallas and gave their recommendation on what form of entertainment should be built.

Enabling Engineering Makes Play Accessible
Paired with external clients, students in Northeastern University’s Enabling Engineering class developed apps and devices this semester to empower individuals with disabilities to participate in activities they enjoy. Examples include a virtual reality app that helps people practice their public speaking skills, and an accessible, switch-activated beanbag launcher for cornhole.

High School Students Participate in Enabling Engineering Project
High school students participating in an Enabling Engineering internship program designed a training tool to identify and treat femoral hematomas and improved a wheelchair camera mount.
