Intro to Rocketry Program Lifts Off
The Intro to Rocketry – Airframe program successfully designed, built, tested, and launched five 6-8 foot L2 rockets in March, with some reaching heights as high as 3,600 feet. The launch was the culmination of two semesters of work by about 20 students plus five student mentors as part of Northeastern’s AerospaceNU club.

WIoT team Wins First Prize at IEEE Advanced Air Mobility – Concepts Innovation Challenge
A team of researchers with the Institute for the Wireless Internet of Things (WIoT) consisting of computer engineering students Matteo Bordin, PhD’26, and Pietro Brach Del Prever, PhD’27, and led by ECE Research Assistant Professor Salvatore D’Oro, won first prize at the IEEE Advanced Air Mobility – Concepts Innovation Challenge, a challenge to engage undergraduate and graduate students across the world in developing novel concepts in unmanned air transportation.

SC22 Demo Shows Record Performance for NDN-based Data Delivery Platform
The NSF-supported multi-university N-DISE (NDN for Data-Intensive Science Experiments) project, led by ECE Professor Edmund Yeh, has finished a highly successful demo at SC22 in Dallas. The Northeastern-Caltech-UCLA-Tennessee Tech team demonstrated a record average throughput of 50 Gbps and peak throughput of 63 Gbps for the N-DISE data delivery platform on a transcontinental wide area network testbed.
