Computer engineering PhD student Mahsa Bayati (PhD’20), ECE Professor Miriam Leeser, Associate Professor Ningfang Mi were awarded the Outstanding Student Paper Award for their paper “Exploiting GPU Direct Access to Non-Volatile Memory to Accelerate Big Data Processing” at the 2020 IEEE High Performance Extreme Computing Conference (HPEC).

ECE Team won First Place in ISLPED 2020 Design Contest
ECE Assistant Professors Yanzhi Wang and Xue Lin and their graduate students were part of a collaborative Northeastern University and College of William and Mary team that won first place at the design contest at ISLPED 2020 for their demonstration titled, “CoCoPIE: A Framework of Compression-Compilation Co-design Towards Ultra-High Energy Efficiency and Real Time DNN Inference on Mobile Devices.”

Hackathon Winners Build App for Students with Limited Internet Access
College of Engineering Information Systems and Engineering Management students win COVID-19 Virtual Hackathon, in which they developed a mobile application to allow students in India to still learn skills even with limited access to the internet.
