Behroozi Receives PTC Grant for Augmented Reality

Mehdi Behroozi

MIE Assistant Professor Mehdi Behroozi was awarded $135K by PTC Inc., one of the leading developers of augmented reality (AR) and internet of things (IoT) platforms. The project “Routing, Motion, and Space Optimization for Humans and Robots in an Augmented Reality Environment” seeks to optimize routes, motions, and space for humans and robots in AR-enabled systems. The goal is to develop data-driven spatial and geometric optimization methods for maximizing the efficiency of both physical and virtual worlds in a dynamic AR environment and solve spatial computing problems that arise there. The results of this project are expected to be integrated into PTC’s Spatial Computing Toolbox.
