CIVE Student Wins Outstanding Graduate Student Award

Congratulations to Wenjun Zhang, this year’s recipient of the Outstanding Graduate Student Award in the category of Research: Life Sciences, Physical Sciences and Engineering.  Only one graduate student at Northeastern University receives this prestigious award every year.  This year, there were many strong candidates from the College of Science, Egan Research Center, and Health Sciences, but Wenjun’s significant contributions and accomplishments have set her apart.   Since her entry to the PhD in Interdisciplinary Engineering in 2011, she has been granted a patent for a salivary glucose monitoring system, published 11 journal articles and 4 conference proceedings, and presented at 9 conferences.  Wenjun is currently a Journal Reviewer for 12 journals and has served as the Secretary for Students of Environmental and Water Resources Engineering, Research & Sustainability (SEWERS), a graduate student group in the department of Civil and Environmental Engineering.

This is an outstanding accomplishment the department is proud of her contributions to literature and Northeastern University.
