Dr. Vilas Mujumdar Donates $1 million for Urban Infrastructure Resilience Research

Dr. Vilas Mujumdar, our newest Executive in Residence for Civil and Environmental Engineering, recently pledged one million dollars to the College of Engineering to create the Vilas Mujumdar Strategic Resilience Fund. The Mujumdar Fund will allow the college to recruit faculty and graduate students whose research focuses on strategic resilience in urban infrastructure. The fund will support cross-training in relevant urban critical resilience expertise and provide a grasp of the social and political forces that can impede or facilitate policy change in this area. Additionally, the fund will support our faculty and students as they work to translate this research into practical applications for industry and government.
