I.Q. Welcomes Two New Co-op Coordinators

The ECE Department is happy to welcome two new additions to the co-op program.

 

Iraz Topaloglu has a strong passion for educational equity and student retention. Currently, she is pursuing her doctoral degree in Higher Education with a focus on STEM education for women and minority students. In her role as a co-op coordinator with Electrical & Computer Engineering department, she hopes to create a seamless and intentional learning environment for her students through the experiential learning model. Iraz received her B.S. degree in Political Science from University of California, Los Angeles and her M.S. degree in Student Development and Counseling in Higher Education from California State University, Long Beach. She has extensive international work experience in different areas of higher education.

Sara Grier joined the College of Engineering co-op team in spring 2016. She is an alum of Northeastern University receiving a B.S. in Electrical Engineering as well as an M.S. in Engineering Management. After completing her master’s, Sara worked in the aviation industry for one of the top leaders in jet engine manufacturing. She worked in the Boston area as a quality engineer and then moved down to Alabama as a production manager to assist in opening up a new manufacturing plant for the company. While working in industry, Sara was heavily involved with recruiting efforts for the company as well as mentorship to co-ops and interns in her department.
