Kondiboyina Receives 2024 Outstanding PhD Student Award in Teaching

Vineel Kondiboyina, MS’18, PhD’24, bioengineering, is the recipient of the 2024 Outstanding PhD Student Award in Teaching, which recognizes PhD students who have demonstrated an exceptional ability to communicate ideas and concepts in the classroom, and a talent for inspiring students.

Kondiboyina’s doctoral dissertation delves into the mechanobiology of limb growth, investigating the dynamics of tissue stiffness and cellular signaling in developing limbs. He discovered his passion for teaching when he served as a teaching assistant for the Bioengineering Measurement, Experimentation, and Statistics Course, where he uniquely blended practical insights from his time in the industry with theoretical rigor. His adeptness extends to mentoring undergraduate and high school students, fostering curiosity and excellence across diverse cohorts. As an advocate for diversity and representation, Kondiboyina actively engages in the Bioengineering graduate student community, contributing to outreach, mentorship, and diversity initiatives within the department and College of Engineering.
