Middle School Summer STEM Program 2017

After participating in a number of Saturday sessions, this year’s Northeastern University Summer STEM Program (NUSSP) for middle school students began its week-long schedule on June 26. Thirty participants out of a pool of 284 applicants from a variety of public and private schools in the Boston area came together on our campus while bringing their diverse and unique talents and perspectives to the program. This has made for a thrilling and engaging start to the week. Turning our focus to energy and telecommunications, the middle school students worked together in various groups and contributed to presentations throughout the day on the United States’ current energy situation and the way communication happens across the globe. Next up—students will learn about supply chain management, big data, infrastructure, transportation, environmental effects and more.
