New Faculty Spotlight: Haris Koutsopoulos

Haris Koutsopoulos joined the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering as a Professor starting in Fall 2014. Prof. Koutsopoulos has held prior faculty appointments at MIT, Carnegie Mellon University, and most recently at KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Sweden. His research focuses on urban transportation networks and informatics, including study of urban mobility and linking ubiquitous sensor data related to multi-modal transportation systems with network science to enable transportation analysis and planning. He has published extensively in these areas and has received a number of awards, including the IBM Smarter Planet Award.
