Northeastern IoT Research Shines at IEEE Infocom in Honolulu, Hawaii

Northeastern researchers were prominently featured at the recent IEEE Infocom 2018 conference in Honolulu, Hawaii on April 14-19. Prof. Tommaso Melodia served as Technical Program Chair for the conference, and was recognized with the class of new 2018 IEEE Fellows in the conference opening ceremony.  Prof. Kaushik Chowdhury and his team received a Best Paper Award for their work on "WiFED: WiFi Friendly Energy Delivery with Distributed Beamforming" (3 best paper awards were selected out of 1,600+ submitted papers). Abhimanyu Gosain, PAWR Technical Program Director, Prof. Stefano Basagni, and Prof. Melodia hosted a PAWR informational session that was attended by key leaders in the field and generated significant buzz and excitement in the community for the PAWR Program.   

IEEE Infocom is the flaghsip IEEE Conference in Computer Networks. According to Google Scholar, IEEE Infocom is the most influential conference in the category of computer networks and wireless communications. Infocom 2018 brought together 900+ researchers from all over the world.
