Recognition of Bala Maheswaran as ASEE Zone 1 Chair for the Council of Sections and Board of Directors of the ASEE

FYE Teaching Professor Bala Maheswaran commenced his three-year term as the Zone 1 Chair for the Council of Sections and Board of Directors of the American Society for Engineering Education (ASEE) on June 28. Maheswaran was honored at the ASEE President’s Farewell Reception during which Jenna Carpenter, the past ASEE president, presented him with the esteemed “ASEE Board of Directors” pin.

Maheswaran holds an impressive academic background, having obtained his MS and Ph.D. degrees in experimental solid-state physics, as well as an MSEE in Electrical and Computer Engineering, all from Northeastern University. Notably, he has been a dedicated member of the Northeastern University faculty for over twenty-five years.

Founded in 1893, the American Society for Engineering Education stands as the preeminent organization for engineering education both in the United States and worldwide. It proudly welcomes members from diverse corners of the globe, fostering a global community of engineering educators and professionals.
