Shuangjun Liu from ACLab Awarded $30K AWS Amazon Cloud Credits

Shuangjun Liu, ECE PhD student working at the Augmented Cognition Lab (ACLab) directed by Assistant Professor Sarah Ostadabbas, received $30K Amazon Web Service (AWS) credit for the implementation of his PhD research on “A Semi-Supervised Data Augmentation Approach using 3D Graphical Engines”. This award allows Shuangjun to work on ACLab’s novel data augmentation algorithm in order to bootstrap deep learning technique for human pose estimation under different scenarios and different imaging modalities. ACLab will release the large scale synthesized human datasets for pose estimation purposes under different contexts to public via the lab webpage (http://www.northeastern.edu/ostadabbas/), in which Northeastern University will host the datasets. Data augmentation tools will also be publicly released.
