Smart Materials and the Future of e-Writing – Prof. Ahmed Busnaina an Invited Speaker

Distinguished University Professor Ahmed Busnaina is an invited speaker at the Smart Materials and Future of e-writing workshop to be held in Ohio on April 12-14, 2016.  Busnaina will be speaking about “Printing of Smart Sensors and Materials".  

Smart Materials ​(defined as materials which can be significantly changed by factors such as stress, temperature, pH, electric fields, and moisture) is the featured topic of April 13, 2016.  Markets impacted by the advancements in smart materials will be explored in depth and include nearly every industrial sector, and we will explore aircraft, fabrics, medical devices, semiconductors, and robotics. The full agenda includes subject matter experts from DuPont, Kimberly Clark, n-tech Research, Parker Hannifin, Brewer Science, AFRL, EMD Performance Chemicals, and NextFlex — America's Flexible Hybrid Electronics Manufacturing Institute. 

On April 14, the focus turns to The Future of E-Writing and features speakers on the market and education system impact and technology direction for digitized handwriting. Speakers are subject experts from Kent Display, Waltop, Scriptel, Universal Stylus Initiative (USI), Zaner Bloser, Case Western, and the Kent State University Liquid Crystal Institute.

The workshop is organized by FlexTech Alliance and is hosted by Kent State University.  FlexTech, a SEMI Strategic Association Partner, is devoted to fostering the growth of the flexible, printed and hybrid electronics supply chain. FlexTech offers expanded collaboration between and among industry, academia, government, and research organizations for advancing flexible, printed and hybrid electronics from R&D to commercialization.
