STEMS Young Scholars Present Research on Opioid Use at 2025 IEEE MIT URTC

High school students Gabriella Jewitt and Daniel Golmohammadi, mentored by Tianyu Yang, PhD’26, industrial engineering, conducted research under the supervision of MIE Associate Professor Muhammad Noor E. Alam as part of STEMS’s Young Scholar Program. Their work “Cocaine as a Secondary Substance: Effects on Rehab Completion in Opioid Users” was accepted and presented by Jewitt and Golmohammadi at the 2025 IEEE MIT Undergraduate Research Technology Conference (URTC), held on October 10–12, 2025, in Cambridge, MA, USA.
